So i've got several albums coming up and decided to have a look at my Backup LaCies to see how much space i had left.
5 gig on the 80 and 11 on the 320.... not good.

Thought briefly about ordering a new one then took a closer look at some of the files.
After deleting 11 alternate mixes for my Old bands album and some other junk, i regained about 90 GB

So what's the moral here.....?
If you don't need it.. EVER trash it.
Save yourself some money.

Hey, that's what I was doing at the moment. Just removed some double back up stuff I had on 2 external HD's. Turned out I had 50 Gb of double files....

that's as maybe but i just cleared at least 2 albums worth of space!

Im ruthless with my tidying and clearing sessions out. Alternate takes??? WTF are they ;-)
Do something similar to this every 6 months or so.
It's a VERY boring day
But i have backups of the last 3 years worth of sessions (there are a lot)
On my LaCie AND on DVD

Yeah, I keep my own project folders quite clean by consolidating *EVERYTHING* related to the final product, and then only leaving the final mix project file with every non-related item deleted from the pool, and finally running the Cubase Cleanup function. Then I only have whatever is in the end-product, and nothing extra :) Generally one finalized project fits into a single 4.7 GB DVD±R. Sometimes as-is, sometimes I .rar it up.
