The Lions win

I never really followed the AFL too much but some Melbourne friend's from the Fitzroy side of the Lions merger have pushed me into taking a look at the AFL so I've been going for the Lions the last couple of years. They did destroy Adelaide in the second half. Could well win 4 premierships in a row the way they crushed Adelaide. Actually they could win 5 the way they are travelling this year.

Why is it Collingwood are so hated in the AFL? Nearly everyone I talk to seems to want to spit on the Magpies? Dodgey supporters?

It's quite easy to hate people like the bumbling Rhyce Shaw, Clumsy Anthony Rocca,
and Nathan "I joined Collingwood to play finals football win a Premiership" Buckley. Then theres Cheesy Shane O Bree, Eddie, and Collingwood cheer squad wanker who only puts on his gold jacket when they win a game. Understandable why there is dislike.

They've been hated forever, and always will be. They're just so easy to hate. Feral fans, racist ex-presidents etc etc. Best thing is though, I think they've lost something like 13 grand finals. :)

Brisbane will win again this year. They're awesome.

I'm going to actually miss a St Kilda game this year, because it's bloody sold out. :( Apparently Geelong v St Kilda is a blockbuster these days.

It was criminal the way Fitzroy had to merge with the Bears. Terrible. :(

Geelong v St Kilda should be a killer game. It has the makings to be game of the year. I would have liked to have gone too. Oh well, will have to watch it on tv, if I'm not busy.

I think Geelong will have a fair chance at the premiership if they finish top 4, but I don't know how likely that will be. They should have a nice run for the rest of the season, and if they can beat St Kilda they should have no excuse for dropping another game.

Do you barrack for Geelong?

I haven't seen the odds, but I think I might put some dosh on the Cats to win. There's no way we're going to win down there with a third of our team out. We'd struggle with a full lineup, the way Geelong are playing.

The way the finals system works, if Brisbane and Port finish in the top two, the rest of us are fucked.

First plays fourth, and second plays third, in the home state of the higher team. The winners go straight to the prelim. One of the prelims is at the 'G (contractual thingo), but the rest would again be in the home state of the winner of the previous final. It makes it tough if Brisbane and Port finish in the top 2!
