The Magic Of "Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets"

i'm an enthusiast reader of the wheel of time saga, but i like harry potter. i liked the first movie a lot more than the fellowship of the ring, because at least it didn't take itself half as seriously and the dialogues were a little less "let's-go-save-the-known-world-in-the-name-of-enter-divinity-of-choice".
in my view harry potter is an interesting mix of fantasy and british irony. the fact that is supposedly intended for "young adults" shouldn't be such a put off. i'm an avid irvine welsh reader, too, but that doesn't mean i would want every book in the world to deal with sex, violence and drug abuse.
to me most of those who like to show such hate towards the potter saga are just doing so to enforce their "bad, mean, blood-thirsty metalhead" image of themselves. :rolleyes:

Heh.. I didn't really like the Harry Potter movie. I saw the first one, and I was skeptical, but it's not because I have any so-called blood-thirsty metal image, I just didn't like the movie. But I will go see the sequel, because my girlfriend wants to see it. *shrug*

Anyway, you wheel of time fans should check out the Wheel of Time MMORPG; they're planning to make a MMORPG based on the WoT world.. Not a lot of people know of it yet, and it's very early in development; they haven't even gotten permission from RJ to produce it yet.

and, well, i was mostly referring to some biased "harry potter must die" attitude, not to the god-given right to honestly dislike the movies, the books, the whole ensemble. ;)

Heh, yeah, but I agree, there are a lot of "masculine" and hardcore people who "hate" Harry Potter because.. well, you know. But if you're into MMORPGS at all, and WoT at the same time, this game is likely going to appeal to you. I know I'm going to keep following it and hope for possible beta position, or until it's clear that RJ won't let them make it :P
