WIll that new Norwegian drummer have alot of freedom when laying down the drum tracks on the next album? I know he has been in both Spiral Architect and Borknagar- two musically outstanding bands. Willl he be allowed to throw in a little prog or black metal influence? I think it would be very interesting if he did- at least for a song or two.

I don't think anything has been said about him doing the record, just the tour. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's just the Euro tour so far.

Tempesta sounds good to me !! :headbang:

I doubt Clemente could play DNR

, I think after that song he'd be on his way to the hospital. I have a video where he plays PWYP in 2000 as a guest at the march metal meltdown and he was having a tough time with that song. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him be able to pull it off , highly unlikely though ...

Thanks TestamentLegions- I was under the impression that this norwegian guy was doing the album- and the tours.

I recommend getting Hoglan back in the band- This is way out there- but what has Nick Menza done lately? He is a damn good drummer.

Anyone is better than Clemente, he totally held the band back from realizing their full potential. Very weak stuff.

If Mickelson ends up doing the CD I doubt he'll get a ton of influence since Lombardo was capable of much more than he did on The Gathering. Either way, I thought The Gathering was their strongest effort since Souls of Black, so I hope the next one is even better.

Tempesta's pretty good, too, but Mickelson blows the rest of the guys mentioned here out of the water, including Hoglan and Lombardo. But they are both great drummers, too.

Regardless of what happens, I hope Allen gets all his issues resolved so he can keep playing in either Testament or maybe get Sadus going again.

~I was really hoping that Jon Allen would lay down the dru tracks for this one,... tour or not. His work on old Sadus was great, but especially on DragonLord he was fucking amazing. Yeah Testament could definately use his talents.

I agree with that clemente comment. the songs with him were So, so so GOOD!!! but the drumming was a bit bent. I agree with the rest , but pardon my ignorance - what album is mickelson on?
