The News Thread

No way do I want to drive a car with my thoughts. I'd rather get into a car that drives itself; but then again, I'd prefer not to get into a car at all.

The only story I'm interested in, is the one about the fat mob boss in miami who got raped to death by his own Orca.

Dubai To Build Domed City
The rate at which science fiction is becoming science fact is starting to get a little spooky.
Leaders of the wealthy Persian Gulf emirate of Dubai announced this week that they will soon start construction of the planet’s first domed city. The concept of a fully enclosed, climate-controlled city — sometimes called an arcology — has been a recurring theme in science fiction for more than 100 years.

I'm interested in how many fantastical projects Dubai has already started that aren't paying off. Like the skyscrapers and the artificial islands in various shapes lol

TREMORS.

Russian geologists are on their way to a remote region of Siberia's Yamal Peninsula to investigate the mysterious appearance of what looks like a gigantic Sarlac Pit. Opinions are divided as to what caused the apparent crater.

As the Siberian Times is reporting, the unexplained hole was spotted by a helicopter flying over the gas-rich region of the Yamal peninsula, a location that translates to the "end of the world." Initial estimates place the width of the puncture at about 80 meters, but its depth is not known. A debris field around the perimeter suggests that the material was somehow thrown out of the crater.

According to Red Cross the things that are currently happening on Ukraine are war. Apparently that makes it official. There's fucking war in Europe. Russian fucking cunts shooting airplanes down included.

Quantum leap in lasers brightens future for quantum computing
Scientists have devised a breakthrough laser that uses a single artificial atom to generate and emit particles of light. The laser may play a crucial role in the development of quantum computers, which are predicted to eventually outperform today's most powerful supercomputers.

Jerry Crocamo, a district network engineer, told The Hechinger Report that despite his colleagues’ best efforts to keep the laptops in perfect working order, there was an average of six new repair cases every day. The issues varied: cracked screens, dead batteries, malware infections, and more.

“We bought laptops that had reinforced hard-shell cases so that we could try to offset some of the damage these kids were going to do,” said Crocamo. “I was pretty impressed with some of the damage they did anyway. Some of the laptops would come back to us completely destroyed.”

"Sweet, a free laptop, LETS FUCKING DESTROY THIS SHIT"

Unearned, unvalued.

This likely isn't surprising to most, but the models and findings are still illuminating:

If you're rooting for Israel, you might have seen videos of rocket launches by Hamas adjacent to Shifa Hospital. Alternatively, if you're pro-Palestinian, you might have seen the following report on an alleged IDF sniper who admitted (on Instagram) to murdering 13 Gazan children. Israelis and their proponents are likely to see IDF videos such as this one detailing arms and tunnels found within mosques passed around in their social media feeds, while Palestinian groups are likely to pass around images displaying the sheer destruction caused by IDF forces to Gazan mosques. One side sees videos of rockets intercepted in the Tel-Aviv skies, and other sees the lethal aftermath of a missile attack on a Gazan neighborhood.

The better we get at modeling user preferences, the more accurately we construct recommendation engines that fully capture user attention. In a way, we are building personalized propaganda engines that feed users content which makes them feel good and throws away the uncomfortable bits.

Not news. That's just normal propaganda/protocol.

What is news is how todays supposed adults have such a difficult time seeing thru this propaganda compared with older generations.
Todays education does not include philosophy so they are not equipped to truly reason.
Intellectually these adults are actually children in comparison to their parents.
