The Official Flamethrower

writting aggressive stuff one about the other, ok.
but in my book it's foul play writting bad things about people not participating in this kinda game, and most of all about people who are not around to reply to you if they wish to. this is my personal point of view, and giving out rep is also a personal choice. if you don't like it, sue me. ;)

last time i checked everyone could write in this thread, its not my-friends-only, as shown by the fact that you are posting here. anyway, people do not get offended at blatant falsehoods, so i might have casually had a point, i guess.

wait a second... what's this? etiquette of flames? i didn't know there were to be any rules about this, especially that they should be so strict. :err:

i don't know, everybody's just sooo sensitive around here. i think i'm gonna visit some other place.

rahvin.

no etiquette and no rules, i just don't like it. as i said it's my personal opinion.

i'm almost scared to point out that if you or anybody else liked what hyena said about them or what anybody else said about the others, it would have been fit for posting on the love thy neighbour thread instead than on the flamethrower thread.

well it lasted a bit more than 120 replies before someone got mad about it. i was somehow expecting a lot less.

rahvin.

yeah, but im somehow not surprised that someone would be getting mad at me. and on behalf of someone else, too! now i am all but expecting hiljainen to rant and rave at me since i said that she's never going to graduate, or miolo waiting for me on my doorstep cos i dared to call him a fag.

Actually I had a good laugh anytime somebody mentioned my name here, even though the jokes were sometimes founded on real not-so-pleasant facts about myself.

because this is the flames thread:

and i mean it!!!!!!11
really!

@Siren: Just take the mouse and plunge it inside, you whining pig. I like the almost intelligent flames that mousie farts away.

@WC: That pic rules but no rep today, sorry. cause I need to spread......

Likewise, i'm quite amused to find out that everyone is so shocked by my not liking what hyena said. And i find it even more amusing that ppl got disturbed and confused and wondering, when someone became really mad and started a real flamewar in a...gosh! flamethrower thread!

if the purpose of a flames thread would have been to get as many people angry as possible, i would say you are right. on the other hand, the aim of such postings seemed to be having fun in a reckless, no-holes-barred sort of way. the fun didn't last long, which is what leads me to think that some users - not just you - around here should just plain stay away from the sort of entertainment they don't have the peace of mind to face.

it also seems to me that on this board there are very long lapses of inactivity where people basically post about the number of hair they've found on the pillow in the morning. these periods are the kingdom of those users that are hardly interested in a discussion as they simply wait for the next now playing. then, little by little, new threads pop up and it seems like this forum goes through a short "renaissance" period, when there's more people around, conversations on different topics come up and so on. unfortunately, these do not last very long as there's a bunch of people who will just get mad and take offense at almost anything, shutting up other users who feel like they've accidentally stumbled into the final episodes of a soap opera.

my personal opinion in the light of all of this is: don't start/take part in flame wars, controversial threads, threads where your name can be mentioned in a way you don't like, personal discussions, unless you're sure you are stable enough to take what comes your way. and learn to use your "ignore" function. end of story and my postings on this thread.
