Would a fan of early Blut Aus Nord (Ultima Thulee, Memoria Vestusta series,TTWTG) enjoy these new BAN albums?

Ehm. I have a hard time enjoying them. Some moments are stellar but most - I think - is rather dull and repetitive. And I'm a great fan of Ultima Thulee, Memoria Vetusta I, Memoria Vetusta II and (to a degree) TWWTG. Never liked Mystical Beast, Odinist or MoRT. The 777 albums sound similar to these I think.

I used to worship TWWTG and I still think it's a fucking great album, but I'm almost always drawn to the Memoria Vetusta albums. I don't recall Mystical Beast much, but fuck MoRT is gay and Odinist is just boring. I should relisten to these albums though before I pass judgement.

I never listened to Katatonia until Night is the New Day and I fucking fell in love, unfortunately I don't like a single album other than that one, I like this new song though.

I concur. Haven't yet been able to get into the rest of Katatonia, but NitND is amazing. Has the same vibe that October Tide has, minus the growls.

EP's are cool as hell. Bands should put out an EP and follow it up with a fullength. If a band does not record a cd for 2,3 years. Atleast there's a decent ammount of material.

Sounds like they're still on the same road as the last couple albums. I'll have to hear the rest of the album, but this track honestly did not impress me...that's only on an intial listen though. I hope they haven't stagnated...

Pretty stoked about the new BAN. TWWTG is a monolith of an album, but its the only album that predates Dialogue of The Stars II that actually gets my attention...The pinnacle of their career for me was when they released DWTS II, theyve just been riding the wave of excellence ever since. I hope they do a vinyl box set for this anthology, that would be sick as fuck...

Speaking of which, Im waiting to splurge and buy Deathspell Omega's 7 picture disc box set...Should be available any day now...

That new Katatonia sounded good until around the 3 minute mark when it started getting a little too cartoony for me...Still stoked about their new album though. They havnt yet put out a bad album in my eyes.
