The 'Ooh'

Many vocalists use this for accent....Mikael Akerfeldt, Tom G. Warrior, the vocalist from Thorr's Hammer, Jonas Renkse in earlier Katatonia....just off the top of my head. Can you think of any other instances of the 'ooh'?

Dani Filth's "Oooh" at the start of "The Principle of Evil Made Flesh", and Lawrence Mackrory at various points in the Darkane album, "Rusted Angel".

I get strange looks when I sometimes let out an Akerfeldtish "Oooouugghhh!" or low end growl when I'm frustrated...and even stranger when singing the wordless vocals in The Moor and The Drapery Falls.

Do you mean the 'ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh' thing he does at the end of the clean vocal section the opening half of The Drapery Falls? If so you're not alone because i sing that all the time. Im always getting weird looks from people as I walk down the street shamelessly chanting 'ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh ahh-ahhhhh!!'

Haha, I love that little "kugh" so much...I always thought I was crazy for that.

SWEET! Nice one...he does that type of "ugh" extension to a few other times, (Moonlapse Vertigo for example: Across the leafy pathway-ugh) but that one is pretty classic. I love it. It's fun to sing/growl along with.
