anyone else agree with me that the Simon & Garfunkel original is a killer tune?

I agree that it's great. Gives you goose bumps being so tricky; very silent and gentle, and creepy at the same time because of the lyrics. Nevermore's version is surely heavy, but doesn't give me creeps. Only adrenalin rising.

I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh every time I hear it. It's not that that the song is bad, it's just. . . bland when compared to the DHIADW version.

that's odd, I can't help but laugh every time I hear Nevermore's version. Only song on DHIADW that I routinely skip.

though I think I'll put it on now, just for comparison.........

Have you listened to the Heir Apparent version?Kicks serious ass

Finally! New 2003 Heir Apparent! Terry Gorle has Mike Blair (ex-Etheria) on vocals. This demo was conceived, written and recorded in a day. Sounds like the SAVIOR device in the song could be a part of a concept album.

Yes Simon and Garfunkle rule! one cannot argue that fact.
the Heir Apparent version is truely great, the vocals are amazing on the track. Nevermore's version is also great in it's own right.
Anyone remember the Queensryche version of Scarborough Fair? another kick ass cover. :Spin:

"mama pajama rolled out of bed and went to the POLLice station."

"she spits in the ground everytime my naem gets mentioned"

hahahaha.....solo simon.

I have squandered my resistance
For a pocket full of mumbles such are promises
All lies and jests
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest....

Asking only workman's wages
I come looking for a job
But I get no offers,
Just a come-on from the whores on Seventh Avenue
I do declare, there were times when I was so lonesome
I took some comfort there...
In the clearing stands a boxer
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of ev'ry glove that layed him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame...

powerful stuff...The Boxer, by S&G
