Day 1 - Friday October 8th

Day one is always a simple day. Joe went into the studio on his own in the evening, and spent a good 4 of 5 hours setting up and tuning the drums, with the help of studio owner and engineer, Chris Djuricic. Between the debates on TV, and Conan on after that, they did manage to get things close to ready for Saturdays first session.

Day 2, Saturday October 9th

The day begins early, much too early for me. We have about a 2 hour ride to the studio, and arrived about 9:30 in the AM. After a quick trip by Mike to the music store for a missing drum head, Chris began to get sounds for the drums. We ran into several technical difficulties with some new microphones but eventually all worked out, and tracking began at 4. The band found a comfort zone, and Joe knocked out the entire CD's 8 songs in one day. Recording was finished at midnight, and everyone was quite happy with the sound, and completion of the drum recording.

Some interesting moments in the day... "Adventure Mike's Wild Kingdom" had an amazing capture on video, as he has a closeup of a large Hawk devouring a live snake just after he swooped down to the ground to grab it. Pretty amazing footage actually, and it will most likely find it's way onto the DVD at some point.

We were turned on to one of the more disturbing DVDs out there, called Bum Fights. If you don't know what this is, look it up online. It's so wrong, you can't help but watch it like a automobile accident. I felt dirty for laughing.

UPDATE FROM VITO...

Day 3 - Sunday October 10th
I'm surprised a lot of work got done today considering we were laughing hysterically at Larry, Joe, and Chris reciting lines from the Kiss Meets the phantom in the park movie. Me being the age I am, I've never seen this horrible yet amazing movie. I'm really glad I got to see this piece of shit cause I love those kinds of movies. Anyway apart from laughing at this movie we get to hear this sound clip a band used as an intro to one of their songs that is an audio clip from some porn movie. The guy in the clip is doing this chick in the ass and as he's doing her he starts rambling off weird shit like "Oh yeah baby I like that sweet ass." "Stove fucking pipe, stretched out in front of me." "I say too fucking bad, butt open." "Ass ream." Needless to say we kept playing this over and over again pissing our pants lying on the floor. The guy sounded like a golf commentator the way he was saying these lines. Funny shit. But aside from all the laughter and bullshit a lot of shit got done and it looks like we will start to record guitars on Tuesday. Keep checking back for more updates.

After a slight change in schedule, a couple days off and Guitars will start then! We've extended the studio time a few days so we can take our time a bit more, and really focus on the quality of this CD.

UPDATE FROM VITO

Thursday October 14th

Today went smoothly with Larry laying down a majority of his rhythm tracks. As he was doing, that Paul and I were busy playing some playstation 2 and watching my collection of Robocop movies. I should be tracking my guitar parts in the next day or so. All I can say is that this album is gonna be HEAVY as fuck man.

To be honest, we've all lost track of time. We've buried ouselves deep into our work, and I can simply say it's sounding amazing. When the recording is done, we'll each post an overall journal of the recording, but for now, it's back to work for us. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Tracking is now almost complete. Just about every band will say the new material is their best, and really try to push the new recording. I can honestly say, now that we are 90% complete with tracking, this CD will be the tightest sounding we've ever been, and it makes a huge difference. This is the first time the band has ever recorded where we have been able to take our time, and really pay close attention to the smallest of details. The comfortable and laid back atmosphere has really helped to bring out top notch performances. We have 3 more days of tracking left, and only textures remain, so being home for the first night in days, and my vocals being complete, I can finally get a good night of sleep. I can't wait for you all to hear this.

I'll be writing my long and excruciating studio report for you all soon. Seeing as that I have about two and half weeks worth of studio time to recall and write up, it make take a bit lol

The recording process is now 100% complete. What an amazing piece of work this has turned out to be. Mr Swano will start the mixing in the next week or 2, so we'll update on that as well.
