Hey guys,

Just thought I'd start a new thread adding some pictures from the new recording/mix studio in time with stuff being 100% done. Of course it's the new SSL board in there, a proper amp/cab speakon patch system etc...

We've had about two weeks of downtime now to be able to get the new place up and running and we're finally open for business even though everything is not quite finished yet in terms of furniture etc.. Already recorded drums on a new album in there and the new room just sounds amazing. Been doing a couple single mixes just to get a feel for the room and testing all the new cool stuff out. Starting new recording sessions tomorrow all while trying to finish the studio.. but will probably be a couple months now before it's really 100% done due to work happening at the same time.

But to start things off... here's the 100% completed outboard rack.

Hey plec! Awesome setup! What´s your opinion of your SSL converter vs some of the stardart Lynx/Apogee/Mytech....??
They sound great! :)

Everyone gets it wrong anyway like in that Behringer vs. Lynx deal over at GS. You can talk yourself into hearing a lot of junk that isn't there. I've been using the old Sydec/Apogge converters before SSL took over and I've always been very happy with them, so these are pretty much 24ch versions of those 8ch ones.

Gear pron!

Good choice on the SSL Alpha's.

What is that on the top right below the power unit?
That is a Summit Audio EQP-200B. Pultec style thingy...

Hehehe, awesome! :)

The Wall of Doom is also now 100% complete with the custom amp/cab speakon patch system. A total of 10 amps can now be fed from a single source, either a guitar or a recorded line signal and then be fed to 8 cabinets and 2 combo amps in the recording room.

Awesome Thomas!
Just for curiosity...is the new place that big farm in the middle of nothing? :) It's a great place.
But...isn't a risk doin' a studio so isolated? Don't know how these things work in Sweden, but here, if the wrong people know the stuff there is inside, probably you will find a hole in the wall when you arrive at work in the morning... Or do you live there too?

If you're referring to the pics on thepanicroom.se site, then no. That's the old studio were we operated for 7 years. The new studio is located in the center of town. It will be a couple of months until any official update will take place with new hi-res pics and all. Even the gear list is from the old studio at the moment...

The old pics might look kind of lonely but it's actually situated just outside a very small village so it would be hard to just drive up unnoticed. Also had alarms installed going to a security company.

The place looked very uninhabited also where you could never guess there would be a large studio housed in there. Same thing with the new place really, although it's been a classic studio site since 1988 you would never know it from just looking at the house.

Looks awesome man. What are you using for your guitar splitting? Still a radial JD7 or something else?
