I dont know, I have been to Croatia only once in my life. I know you didnt mean it for Croatia (if you did, it would be very cool though), it was my association, poetry, madness, your location being Croatia, boing!, sounded great to me. I think it perfectly defines the Balkan nature - a thin line between poetry (meaning elan vital, friendliness, etc.) and madness (murders, wars, mass graves, chaos). I dont know if you read the book The Red Rooster Rises (my translation) by Miodrag Bulatović - its all there, after having read this book, I somehow understood the civil war in your country better. I love Balkan literature, btw. Danilo Kiś, David Albahari, Drago Jančar, Bora Ćosić, Mirko Kovać and many others are my top favourites.
Yes,I know it fits this country very well...but it's a name of my song actually..and I don't like to read about war here,I've seen it myself...but Balkan has some really good writers, yes
No, no, sorry, I definitely wouldnt want you to read such things, it mustve been horrible. That book by Bulatović is quite old, he doesnt write about any war. Its about the people who live in the Balkan Peninsula, thats what I meant. My apologies once again.
