not really. now i'll be pedantic and set this straight: "ciao" is a contraction of "sciao" which is renaissance venetian dialect for "slave". people from the upper classes greeted each other saying, basically, "i'm your slave". also, for all you non-italians out there, "ciao" is something that we use as both "hello" and "goodbye". i never quite figured out why abroad it's only used as "goodbye". and to get back on topic of this thread
