Apparently, they seem to hate Speed.

Yes, i've never been to this Billy Milano forum. But apparently Im a wanna be intellectual (a fair claim), a fag, and someone who has posted on the Milano forum before. All of which I deny, except for the wanna be intellectual part.

I've been there..and it 's crazy gay!! (We're talking Dragonforce humping queer eye gay) One of the clowns who moderates there posts here every now and again.. Another wanna be intellectual who's only outlet in life is the net. He's nothing more than a little fag on a power trip..Without his board what's he got?

I posted some anti homo remarks in a topic about fags (So I was on topic) and all the pickle smoochers cried..

I have some support on the Milano forum though:

Contrary to my user name, I very rarely post in that forum. But I read the Machiavelli thread and all your posts were very condescending and not particularly educated or well informed. There's a reason they wanted to toss you out. You were basically trolling that thread.

:headbang: :headbang: Yeah, I took a look too. He pretty much derailed any discussion about Machiavelli.

And these comments reflect the reason why I closed the thread.

Who gives a shit about those inbreeds over at the Billy Milano forum? I mean, these people post at a forum dedicated to BILLY MILANO for christ's sake.

Anyway, the guy is complaining that you deleted his posts, allegedly because he expressed some controversial views. I didn't see the posts but I think it's more than likely that speed deleted them because they were lacking in substance. It's not like there haven't been people here expressing controversial views before.

edit: oh wait, I see that he didn't actually delete his posts but whatever.

I closed the thread actually--never deleted any of his posts.

I think he's under the impression that this is a board for liberals or something. Has the guy ever scanned the philo forum before? I cant remember the last pro-liberal, or even pro-egalitarian, or hell, even pro-democracy thread. A shame too, as its good to have a nice argument.

Finally, I do think we talk way too much about current events and politics; but unfortunately, they seem tied to philosophy, or vice versa.

Cythraul, re-read my post on the Milano forum. Never do I even insinuate that a post of mine was deleted. Know the facts before you try to represent them please.
Derek - I again thank you for your diplomacy.
Speed - Please get past the liberal/democrat/concervative labels. Although that may have been what tripped me up at first in the other thread. I believe that at the end, it was just a pissing contest between us.

Well, lets just leave this here then, huh?

Everyone is welcome here. I know the topics covered do not always interest everyone, but generally speaking we have some sharp minds that visit here, and folks fight enough in general, lets not lower ourselves to doing it on the bloody internet.

Learn how to read. I corrected my mistake in that same post.

I read perfectly but, appreciate your concern nonetheless. My apologies for reading up to and including the misinformation and then jumping right to my reply.

Your perfectly welcome to keep posting here as long as stop harassing others, and offer some substantive points. And please, enough

Also, I add once again, if anyone has a problem with the moderation, please pm me, or post concerns on the moderation thread. This is a non-paying, and obviously not a very glorious position.

I agree. I have achieved the desired effect.

I simply dont understand the level of irritation at Fah-Q (dude, change the "name").

Was he atagonistic and adding very little to the thread? Sure. But a great deal of posts around here are of similar quality, and the responses and attacks he got were no better. If fact, I was much more surprised by our regular posters' conduct than his.

Im much more concerned with the types that dilute and muck up anything of substance here and dont even realize it.

There should be more constructive criticism. This means not mocking or insulting, but trying to helpfully point out where someone has, "diluted or mucked up something" for example, making it abolutely clear (politely) how this has happened. But one must be able to take criticism as well as to give it. The idea is not to embarass the person who wrote the post you criticise, but to try to help them and thus improve the discussion. Tricky though - it can all too easily appear patronising.

Personally, that he went to the Billy Milano board and whined about the forum being "narrow-minded" pushed him over the top. My obnoxious post is factual, actually. Besides that, I don't care about him one way or another.

I think its obvious he had a ulterior motive for his actions. And he essentially mocked the whole board over in his Milano post. It seemed as if he wanted a fight, or prove some point.

I take much of the blame for what happened. Instead of merely closing the thread right away, I attempted to make a point.

And my and other regulars reponses were quite human and natural. We're they philosophical? No. But when rudely insulted, people tend to give it back. And yes Justin S, there are a great many rude and insulting posts on this board, including our own. But we've been here awhile, generally do so in a friendly or satirical manner, and dont spend whole threads being asses.
