You really do some nice art, Andy. By sketch, do you mean you actually hand drew the logo first and then scanned it or what? I'm asking mostly because a friend of mine wants me to make a new logo for his band and I'm not sure how to go about the process.

Yeah, it's hand drawn and then scanned. I used the Photoshop magic wand to select anything similar to the color of the paper and cut it out, making the logo transparent, then threw another layer below the logo, made it black, and copied the logo about 3 times on top of itself with some blending and layer style effects. And voila.
