Behind the mist.
I don't care if there were other Primus threads. I had 6 shots of Jameson, and Sailing the Seas of Cheese fucking rules.

ah yeah, checked through blabbermouth, found the news

" According to Billboard.com, PRIMUS' classic lineup of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde and drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander will hit the studio later this year to record their first album together since 1995's "Tales From the Punchbowl""

One of the greatest bands ever, period.

You can trace my life through Primus albums, seriously. I mean for fook's sake, I started playing bass because of that fucker and my world was forever changed for the better. Hooray for my older neighbor Olin who said "hey dude, check THIS out" and played me Seas of Cheese when it was first released.

Primus never gets old for me. I still remember playing Jerry was a Race car Driver and To many puppies in one of the first bands I jammed with.
I had no idea they were working on a new album, but I did pick up that Halucinogenics DVD awhile back.

hah!

the only band I was ever in, we were a primus cover band

we played too many puppies and groundhog's day and, well that was about all we bothered to learn before the drummer got pissed because there wasn't enough double bass, so him and I were gonna start a metal band, but the bassist didn't want to, and no one else around here played bass... so that was the end of that :p

my first exposure to primus was on the bus on the way to a high school soccer game. i was listening to rush on my walkman (remember cassettes?) and the only other "music" guy on the team was listening to frizzle fry. he said, "hey, check this out." i listened and i said, "uhm, i dunno. kinda wierd." the next day i secretely went out and bought it.

edit: this is back in '90 or something ridiculous like that.

When I read NAD post, I was going to post my first experience with Primus, then I scrolled down and saw that I already did.
DAMN GETTING OLD! DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!!

I'm assuming that blabbermouth post isn't counting the EP they released a year or two ago? It was great stuff. All of their discs are good, excluding the two "covers" discs. What about side projects?

Attention Deficit - fantastic fusion with Tim on drums
Oxygene8 - great prog rock for some female stick player who recruited Tim to do drums
Les is in a bazillion projects, most of them at least decent.

Eh, I'm not sure if that was released yet when that was reported, this is a rather old thread afterall.

If it was talking of the full album, I still have not heard anything new other than "in the works." Earlier this year they announced late 2007 or 2008, but maybe Les is waiting for the press from his book / movie / dozens of other albums to die down before coming back to Primus.

The Primus guys developed too many side projects for me after their first couple albums. They didn't make it easy to identify with them. I lost interest after Seas of Cheese but still listen to the album regularly.
