The Promo Gods are smiling on me today

So what's the deal with High Season V's lyrics sounding so similar to that song off Traveller? Come to think of it, some of the music does too. Just written around the same time as Traveller?

Hi Everybody,
I was really astonished that someone (Demilich) took the time to type down all the lyrics of "Atavism", man I would have never done that :D !!! THANK YOU! :worship:
Well, I guess it would have been no pain for me as a record label to send the lyrics on request, like I did with JayKeeley (hoping you got them)!

About digipacks: sorry we are not Dragonheart, hehe! We tried to respect band's indications on everything, and honestly they never asked for digipacks.
But.. does that look sooo bad?

Anyway... I really would like to thank everyone for the support given to SLOUGH FEG and consequently to us as their label, this is much appreciated.

I'll try to be here on the forum, now and then, when my job permits it, with some news regarding the new releases.

Enrico / Cruz Del Sur Music

p.s. don't laugh at my english, hahahaha!

Yeah, no doubt. I'm sure they've got riffs and melodies dating all the way back to their beginnings circa 1990 and they just tend to connect all the albums each time they unleash the fookin' foory! Traveller and Deadmen are the only albums without a High Season song, correct?

HS III & IV were on the debut, but then they included I & II on the re-release. Then II appeared on Twilight, and now we've got V. I can't even remember: is HS II on Twilight the same as HS II on the debut re-release?

First of all, welcome Enrico.

Second of all, thank you for having the balls to sign Slough Feg and the Hammers. You have my backing 100%.

Thirdly, I cannot wait to buy this album (but yes, admittedly I am a digipak whore). :)

And finally, once my review is done, feel free to hook me up with Mike Scalzi for an interview. :kickass:

Guy, Deadmen has a High Season on it!

I don't remember which one, but it's the 2nd last song, before Death Machine, and if fucking rules!

Nice to see you here, Enrico! I like my digipacks also, but this cd looks just fine how it is! Keep up the good work! :kickass:

It's the same one as High Season I off the s/t, if I remember... maybe not, I only heard the s/t on mp3 a couple of times then deleted it. Gotta pick up that reissue sometime!

I have the re-issue - it's a tough listen compared to their later stuff, but I think it's going to be worth it in the end to spend some time with it. Scalzi thinks it's some of their best work (at least, he thinks his vocals have never been better).

Interestingly enough, in the press release for Atavism, Scalzi himself writes the preface to the album: "it harkens back to the first SF album, skipping a few generations along the way. We wanted to recapture the youth and vitality of our first album with a more raw, frenetic production, while still exhibiting all of the musical experience we've fostered over the last nine years".

I need to listen to their debut more I think! [I'm still relatively new to Slough Feg in the big scheme of things].

Rawer production on Atavism? I was thinking exactly the opposite! He was still a killer lead guitarist back then, I really like 20th Century Wretch and Shadows of the Unborn! The Miskatonic Foundation's reissue has such cool artwork, I can't wait to grab it! The versions of High Season I & II on the s/t are pretty cool, you can hear how they developed between there and their respective "second comings" on later albums.

You know the original artwork on the debut was a caveman painting....

I prefer this art to the new cover:

And thankfully, the re-release has reversable inlay with both illustrations so you can choose. :)

Haha, that's cool! I take it the original is "WTH RARE OOP HTF BURZUM MAYHEM" kinda thing, eh?

Come to think of it, the guitars on Atavism do sound nice and raw!

Yeah, real collectors item. The re-release has all the tracks plus some of their earlier demo material (I think - can't remember what the bonus tracks are). Anyway, yes, this is HTF as are their original demos (not sure if they're cassette tape or CD-R).

If I ever saw shit like that on Ebay I'd be very tempted...

FUCK! I just this morning missed a vinyl copy of Sacrifice's "Forward to Termination" on vinyl released by Diabolical Force (I think) in 1987 :(

It closed at $1.99!!!!!!!!! :erk:
