'The Quiet Place' melody, guitar or effect?

You know the melody in the intro and in the chorus, right? Is it something out of a computer or played on guitar?

Some guitar covers, which aren't the most reliable source, suggest that it's a guitar melody.

When watching a live performance of this song I didn't notice Jesper or Björn doing it on guitar but it's still there, from background tape or something?

As an attempting guitarist I'm curious, which one is it?

They probably recorded that on guitar. It's not the first time that they use that kind of melody as a prerecorded thing live.

It's some kind of sampler, whether it was live guitar that was played through it or if it was programmed. The same dude who did it did all the keyboards/sampler stuff for every IF album starting from R2R. And he also did it on The Halo Effect's debut album too.

Live they play that part off the backing tape and that's how they've always done it.
