this is slightly biased because its what people say on a dating site, not necessarily what people really like... but rather what they want people to think they like.

Actually, i'd reckon that the dating site essays are pretty good way of guaging this sort of thing, as the people involved are writing about aspects of themselves that they think will attract a mate.
if someone goes out of their way to mention Van Halen, with the hope that it will get them laid, then we can conclude that them liking Van Halen is probably significant.

or maybe im talking a load of crap.

I got this for my Japanese room mate for his birthday. It was hilarious - pretty expensive gag gift but we did get hours of fun following him around the house reading it to him.
