Which song do you think is most responsible for starting the 80's metal explosion? Talking about the mainstream here, the MTv scene.

I vote for 'Photograph' because I was hearing that at the end of highschool, so it started a lot of things for me :p

I don't have any idea, but I'm taking a guess, so I vote for "Photograph - Def Leppard" :dopey:

i dunno...damn you and your questions that make me think, Greeno!

I picked Photograph. I always thought Pyromania was the birth of ACTUAL pop-metal and that's my favorite song of the bunch, too.

I voted for Metal Health Basiclly because I think Bryant is correct.... but for the rec ord I fucking Hate Def Leppard cept for Hystria I think My Favorite from that small list is Ratts Round and Round ... tho the entire out of the cellar album is classik!

I would swear that in my circle-in-the-know in '83, Def Leppard was much more responsible than the others. Vote: Photograph. Interesting, though, I really liked Pyromania but I hated that song...

Actually I remember frequently seeing the video for "Running Free" by Maiden on MTV. It was so long ago, and things are kind of foggy, but I feel like this kind of gave way to all the songs listed above... I don't know. Not sure what year these albums came out.
