Does anyone else think that this EP was really poorly done? I have TesseracT's demo recordings, and they have a great vibe, technical but emotionally encompassing too, really affective. Then they go and get signed and have a major release and all the vibe and emotion is gone, and instead of seeming technical, the weird things just seem disjointed and random. I also think the mix makes no sense too, it's worse than the demo IMO, very boxy and not ambient at all. It seems that this is happening a lot with new underground bands these days once they get signed... just pretty disappointing.

Acle and Amos run 4d, where the album was mixed and mastered. They did all of their own recording and all that business. Everything you heard from the album was a direct result and decision of their own.

Interesting. Who produced their demo content then? Because that stuff is well done.

They're just suffering from self-production syndrome. It's rare that a band can self-produce and really do it well.
I'll add to this that you get this a lot in the djent genre. You have these promising demos and then you have the same amateur engineer record the same songs after they're a couple of years old and the results are consistently disappointing. I guess the expectation is that once it's on a label you do it "for real" but now you're tired of the songs and the chance your're leagues better as an engineer are pretty low.
