Is that time of the year again, and many know the drill, but there have been (thankfully) many newbies coming lately.

Write your top (10 minimum, no maximum) list of albums, concerts, videos, for 2015.

No bashing, no hit and run comments, all lists are valid in the eyes of the poster.

I post mine usually on Dec 31, but anyone who like put it before is welcome. This thread will be "sticky" until 01/01/16 and then will have its own rotation.

  4. Storm und Drang
  5. Genexus
  6. Repentless
  7. Bad Magic

For me 2015 has been an excellent musical year. There were a few unexpected debut and sophomore albums that turned out to be fantastic.
‘Antlion's’ album seemed to come out of nowhere and 'Monarchy’ from Rivers Of Nihil took me by surprise as well.
Both band have grown since their first release.
When I look at my list I realize how great the quality of the albums is.
With this said, I am very much looking forward to what 2016 has to offer.
There is one album that I am already eagerly expecting; The new In Mourning album.

May 2016 be a year of spectacular gigs and totally unexpected high quality releases.

Have a great 2016 everyone!! \,,/

I am looking forward to that TageRyche.

My list leaned towards the far more melodic this year so I don't know that we have that much in common. I only got two of the albums on your list and haven't even had time to listen to them yet.

Man I am never good at remembering what I got in a given year!

Some that will appear on mine for sure are:

Ghost - Meliora
Eclipse - Armageddonize
Braindance - Master of Disguise
Symphony X - Underworld
Magnus Karlsson's Freefall - Kingdom of Rock
Praying Mantis - Legacy
Kamelot - Haven
Joel Hoekstra's 13 - Dying to Live
Gloryhammer - Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards
Riverside - Love, Fear An The Time Machine
Wulfhook - The Impaler

Special mentions:

Queensryche - Condition Human (cool album, liked it a lot, but not more than the other 10)
The Darkness - Last of Our Kind (if the whole album were as good as the first three songs, it would have been in my top 5)

A band I discovered this year but this was a 2014 release:

Perturbator - Dangerous Days (Dark Synth - like 80s thriller/horror soundtrack stuff)

I was just curious what album would be in your list. I am not looking for lists that copy mine.
The two albums that you refer to are from Queenrÿche and Riverside?

Queensryche and Symphony X are the two albums.

1) Symphony X - Underworld (barely beat out QR)
2) Queensryche - Condition Human
3) Ghost Ship Octavius - s/t (was on track for #1 earlier in the year!)
4) Iron Maiden - The Book of Souls
5) Level 10 - Chapter One
6) W.A.S.P. - Golgotha
7) Ghost - Meliora
8) Europe - War of Kings
9) Slayer - Repentless
10) Scorpions - Tokyo Tapes (50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition), because I didn't have a true #10 :)

disappointed with:
anything George Lynch released :(
Michael Schenker - Spirit on a Mission (not a big fan of Doogie White)
Denner/Shermann (vocals just don't cut it for me)

Pretty interesting list. Your top 2 are two discs I have but haven't gotten around to listening to yet.

I completely forgot to do a list this year! I was working crazy hours most of December and was preparing for my NAMM trip (which was amazing!!!) and missed a lot of great albums this year. I still haven't gotten around to checking out Maiden, Civil War and the new Kymera which I've heard were all rather good.

I didn't listen to a lot of new records released in 2015, rather I spent the year really diving into Japanese metal - Galneryus (I still haven't gotten around to their album which would probably have been in my top 10), Binecks, Onmyouza, X Japan, Wands, Seikima II, Clover Z, Lightning, Ayumi (she's got some great metal stuff), and especially Siam Shade (who I now hold among my all-time favorite bands).

2015 was a massive change in my life for a whole bunch of reasons that I don't really want to get into (some of you know one of the reasons), but I've come out the other end of the year happier with a ton of optimism - onward and upward. Anyways, with that out of the way, let's do this!

15. Sweet-Lynch - Rise (Not bad, but I was kind of hoping for more from these 2 legends)
14. Blackwelder - Survival of the Fittest (Shred metal with Ralf Sheepers, mixed by Theocracy's Matt Smith)
13. Cain's Offering - Stormcrow (Basically Stratovarius - hell Kotipelto even sings on it)
12. Magic Kingdom - Savage Requiem (I miss Olaf, but the new singer is great)
11. Serpentine - Circle of Knives (I miss Tony, but the new singer is great)
10. Kamelot - Haven (They were awesome live too!)
9. Magnus Karlsson - Kingdom of Rock
8. Find Me - Dark Angel
7. Kiske-Somerville - City of Heroes
6. Stratovarius - Eternal
5. Stryper - Fallen
4. Armored Saint - Win Hands Down
3. Symphony X - Underworld (They're back!)
2. Tony Mills - Over My Dead Body (fun fact: I'm in the album's special thanks!)
1. Queensryche - Condition Human

Concerts: Uli Jon Roth 2x (including getting to meet him!), Scorpions-Ryche, Steel Panther (5th year in a row!), Chicago, Kings of Chaos, Weird Al, and a Final Stage reunion show :)
