Really though, who gives a fuck if it's copyrighted material? Is there really a genuine fear that someone will take these, assemble them into a song, and thus not purchase the actual version? Get real...also, what about that supposed clause in the DMCA that says it's cool to post stuff for educational purposes? (you know, the one quoted in all the descriptions of those "videos" with a static image and a song)

Yea, I know how you feel, I too look at it as educational, for referencing only. But it is copyrighted.

Yeah, sorry, wasn't really ranting at you, more just in general haha, because this happens every time someone posts stems (usually after a truckload of people express their gratitude and really interesting analyses and mixing revelations take place)

It is true that there is something of a double standard in that we can't post stems but we can post links to YT vids of stems. Still, rules are rules and I suppose the theory is that YT is responsible for the infringement and not our forum in that instance.

It's one of the major rules, it's in the forums "readme", "FAQ", "RULES, READ FIRST", and even if not, I think it's common sense that posting stolen/copyrighted material is not legal... why does it need an extra warning?

In this case it's extra bold, some of these stems are Andy's mixes, kicking the person in the face who gave us this forum.
Stems like these were posted before, Andy HATED it (fully understandable).
And no, Siriun was not permanently banned. He'll be back in a bit (pretty sure Andy would have banned him permanently, so I guess Siriun was lucky that I was here first)

If these would have been stems ripped from bands I produced I'd have been really pissed too.
It's ANDY'S decision if he wants to give us samples, presets, seperate files etc...noone else's
