Even sports that I never watch otherwise, I watch during the Olympics. These people train so hard and want it so badly that I can't help but be swept away by the sheer desire of it all. I love rooting for underdogs and watching old, bitter national rivalries handled with good sportsmanship. I also love that it's in Athens this year and the location of the shot put.
The tv coverage in the US is so much better than it was for Syndey. The prime time coverage sucks, but for the rest of the day and night, it's been great. When they don't focus on one country, it's a lot better. Boxing's been on for three hours every day!
China sure ain't fuckin' around this year. It still seems strange to me that they're so good at weightlifting. Those women divers of theirs are very impressive.
Hamm was pretty tough, alright. I liked it when the Japanese mens gymnastics team solidly and convincingly beat the US team, and the US team applauded them.
That handball game between Croatia and Slovenia was cool because it was so rough.
