I was just wondering what album did the band move on from the doom/gothic metal to a more electronic and "poppy" sound? I have their self-titled and recently bought Assembly. I didn't like it much at all. I've been wanting to get their other albums, but I need to know where to stop.

No actualah, their first was a self-titled release through Massacre, and that was thier doomiest, most metal release. IMO thier best album is indeed Velvet Darkness They Fear, thier 2nd release, and I listen to it often. It's very atmospheric and deep, you could spend hours just deciphering the poetic lyrics. The 3rd, Aegis was pretty much in the same vein, just not quite as heavy, while the 4th, Musique was thier biggest change, almost leaving metal completely to that synth/electronic pop sound, and thier latest, Assembly, is even further in that direction, although plenty of fans like or don't mind thier new sound, after all, the often open-minded people that enjoy and get into that early gothic style can appreciate the more poppy sound, cuz most true goth music is actually like that.

I have the three first albums and "Aegis" is kind of the first to start with the poppy stuff IMO. I haven't heard much of the later stuff, but "Aegis" is pretty boring.
