This is called being the singer. He doesn't really have a choice. I think if he could he'd go hang somewhere else while Bjorn or Jesper did the interviews.Anders gets alot of the heat because he's the frontman. He tries to be the charismatic head of the band who's in most of the media spotlight.
"i really don't like the way he dresses. He should wear more blue, to bring out his eyes. And those socks? So five years ago."He bounces around on the stage like a tool at concerts, has the dreadlocks and generally dresses like a moron (really what was with those socks in the CC tour?)
This is called "being the frontman."He's involved with like 90% of the band's interview.
Yep. He decided to stop writing guitar melodies so he could sing clean. Which is my way of saying HE DOESN'T WRITE THE MUSIC, YOU STUPID STUPID FUCK! Blame Bjorn or Jesper.Plus, alot of the melodic guitar harmonies that were signature of the earlier albums have been replaced with his nasally off-key clean vocals
Not if you assume that everyone's a dumbass. Is there any surprise that he gets alot of the blame?
Actually, I feel like they were their ideas in the first place.Jesper and Bjorn would not go along with these ideas if they didn't agree with them
What is their work? I mean, according to you Anders does the guitar melodies, so I guess they just wank off while the rest of the band writes the album?nor are they guilt free as they have clearly dumbed down their own work as well.
That this forum desperately needs a mod.Your display name is a fucking In Flames album. What are you trying to prove?
Shit thread. Hating on In Flames is as boring as IF fanboys.
I'm a fan since Whoracle and I still say that I think that two of the best In Flames albums are STYE and A Sens of purpose. I love the old stuff but they had to change. Of course if you're a closed minded metalhead that thinks he knows everything on music well its just too bad for you cause with Amon Amrth like exeption you'll always find your beloved bands changing there style. When you play in a band that has been going for some years you realise that the 'cool' things you once used to play become freaking boring and really immature...even if lots of people like those songs. Then you try new stuff and bang next thing you know your trying to bring a more mature and modern sound to your music cause you dont feel like playing 14 times the same song. When you start living out of your band, you dont see a tour with Slipknot the same way you did before huh? All of a sudden it becomes a great chance to show your music to more people and maybe make even more cash out of your music...but do you really think this will alter the way of writting? Maybe! But one thing is for sure...if you change, you change cause YOU WANT TO CHANGE or else the band you disband fucking fast.
Stop bashing if you dont have a fucking clue what you are talking about ( and i'm not talking about everybody here but only the ones that claim this or that EXAMPLE :ITS ANDERS FAULT )
You dont like the new stuff? Well dont listen to them what do you want? And accept that each new album brings more and more and more new fans to the band and they will continue o change and the cycle wont stop.
Its a freaking IN FLAMES forum not a lets say In Flames sucks forum.
hmm.. i kinda agree with you, EVOLUTION should be accepted (think of Therion, Anathema, Paradise lost, ect) but selling out is another story, for example, You can't say you have to accept for example st anger by Metallica, i mean they SOLD OUT, and to be honest i think In flames did a bit too.. (don't worry, A sense of purpose is an great album, just don't realy like the previous 3). So i can see the hate, but whining endlessly is just stupid ofcourse.
About who to blame: the whole band ofcourse, ofcourse we can't blame Anders, just because he is the vocalist doesn't mean his the ''man'' behind the band.
I am in total agreement with you. I don't know which bothers me more. Those that cry sell out with any slight changes in sound in a band or those that defend it saying bands need to change.
I have no problem with true progression as not everyone can pull off the AC/DC. I just don't like it when they take their sound in a direction that obviously seemed attractive as it is the sound that was getting many bands popular.
Of course,[Anders'] not even close to being the only one to blame. Jesper and Bjorn would not go along with these ideas if they didn't agree with them nor are they guilt free as they have clearly dumbed down their own work as well.
Everyone in the band is to blame since several members have said time and time again, that the music writing process has been democratic.

WeAreInFlames , clearly you shouldn't be doing sentence by sentence post dissections because you completely missed the point of my post. I was not actually blaming Anders but explaining WHY Anders is often to blame and cited things that Anders has been criticized for. I was saying that he often gets blame because he's the frontman and his vocals replaced alot of the guitar elements. I don't know where you are getting that I somehow think he's responsible for the guitar writing. I simply stated that his vocal have replaced the much of the melodic guitar elements which was the parts many In Flames fans enjoyed the most about the old material and therefore, target him for that.
