This is so damn cool.

I just got my hair cut. While waiting, I was flipping through a National
Geographic. They had this article about this cave in Mexico with giant crystals in it. The pictures are amazing. Check it out.

Yeah I actually have particular issue of National Geographic at home and was amazed at the size of those crystals. Those cavers had to really endure some tough conditions, such as extreme heat, to get to those things, too.

Saw the special on that on the NGC and was completely awestruck. It was like a scorching version of Superman's Crystal Fortress! What really blew my mind was the fact that they found microscopic specemins of life in some of the samples they took from the crystals. Nothing like messin' around with bacteria that is hundreds of thousands of years old. :ill:

Another very cool special they had was on underwater cave diving expedition in Mexico. The halocline (where fresh and salt water meet) was beyond trippy - looked like you could take your mask off and breathe.

I remember when we all dreaded having to watch documentaries in school. Now they just plain rock and are one of my favorite things to watch on the ol' tube. :)

Beautiful. I haven't been spelunking in many years now, but it used to be one of my favorite things to do.
