I really couldn't care less about the lyrics or what the band members are like in interviews; their music is reasonably kickass and that's all that matters to me. I will say, though, that I at least admire the frontman guy's ambition in actually trying something new and innovative thematically with his band and having the music and lyrical themes work together to represent something as a whole, instead of just churning out a dozen two minute-long jerking-off-to-Satan shitfests and calling it TRVE KVLT GUIZE LOL.

I'd much rather have two minute-long jerking-off-to-Satan shitfests than any Liturgy's 10-minute fuckfests to Emerson and Thoreau...

Satanism is pretty well regarded as a joke within serious philosophy and religious studies. The Abrahamic religion own Satanism in absolutely every way, brutally as a matter of fact. Needless to say, I'd rather fuck to Walden than Satan.

Musically they're not that accessible to non-metal people, there are a lot of bm-acts with more accessible sound, but less hate. It's not really about the music, but I think I'll leave it at that on this forum.

True. COF is a lot better. Both Liturgy and WITTR suck and are gay, though Wolves is better of the two.

I'll discuss what I wish in spite of this forum's cry baby feelings. I felt like Two Hunters was more accessible than most BM if only for its post-rock-like epic quality. A lot of the songs were kind of like jam songs. Black Cascade I didn't like as much. I don't really know why. It just never came into its own I guess.

I wasn't referring to any specific bands, just the fact, that the WITTR-hate doesn't really come (only) from their music. You don't have to be any kind of black metal purist to disapprove of their stupid, contradictory and pretentious statements, and the fact they almost seem to think they're the most innovative and original black metal band since Burzum and Darkthrone.
