anyone ever brought anything from them before?? something im a little warey of since, theyre in germany and im not..just wanna make sure if i spend a bit of money its all gonna be safe. anyone with good/bad experiences with them?!?!

well, i'm from germany, but i've dealt with them several times. i didn't buy anything really expensive, though, mostly just fx, cables, strings, wireless, etc.
they are nice guys and a pleasure to deal with. so far i have no complaints
on the other hand, i've been told they often send you returned stuff, as they have a 30 days money back thing going on. i cannot comment on this as i haven't experienced it first hand.

Yeah.. i order from them most of the time... like everyone said in here.. EXCELLENT service!

I have yet to be turned down by them, like so many other stores did.. they are quick, very friendly, quick, quick, punctual, and pretty quick as well..

ah cool cheers guy probably saved me a bit of money there...unless i can persuade a company over here to price match...even though i have heard somewhere before this is illegal?!?!

Why would it be illegal for a store to match the price?

I might also add that I have even contacted Thomann about objects they didn't have in their catalog and they got back to me immediately with price and shipping time! Not like "we don't sell that brand" like you can expect to find in the stores here in stockholm...

haha, its something ive heard somewhere before..i could be wrong, but maybe something to do with advertising price then changing it?! no idea to be honest..ill try and find out if it is true though...i might have dreamt it.

I order stuff from thomann all the time. The service has been really good.

This happened once:
I bought my triple rectifier from thomann, they said they have one in stock and sent it over. It broke after 2 hours of play and after close inspection I realized it was USED. it had probably been on some expo or something (atleast that's what they told me), but I paid for a new one. I had it fixed at a local dealer (at the cost of thomann), got 6 spare valvetubes and I kept the amp as long as they sent me a new one 3 months later (mesa's stock was very low that time)...

so, they accidentally tried to sell me a used amp, but got it fixed for me, and sent a new one over when they got it from mesa, and kept me a pretty happy customer the whole time.

delivery is fast and accurate, and I think the prices are also pretty cheap (and I can substract 22% VAT from the prices when buying the stuff in my company name, when shipped to finland)

I had no problem also, but be aware of the Vat%, since you have to pay it in your owns country´s %. Some stores will sell you equipment in the German %Vat.

That's if they advertise a price and then make you pay a higher one, but most of the time they can get away with that little text on the bottom of the ad that pretty much says that anything and everything stated in the ad might be wrong...

In fact, when I order stuff, I just have to give them my VAT registration number and they don't add any VAT at all! This requires that you have a business of course and are registered for VAT.

International transactions between VAt paying companies don´t require Vat. It´s in the law. 1 week ago the company i work @ ordered some stuff from Musicstore so i cleread up that issue with the firms accountant.

thomann rock, i've bought most of my "studio" from them as well as a PA for my (ex)band and my 5150 mk1. Been ordering for years and now the shipping is even cheaper.
What's great fun is ringing up a mainland UK store and asking for a price, then asking if they price match, then give them the thomann price. They nearly shit themselves!
German and European makes tend to get the best deals price-wise(obviously) with the American stuff being a little higher.

i take it a shops never been able to price match for you then? certain things like cables and that, are like half the price it costs here..which is silly

Actually, not quite. If a company makes more than 10.000 euros or so in profit from exports, they are obligated to add the VAT of the country they export to.
Don't ask me how I know this. Guess I've been very bored at one point. *haha*

I managed to make a store loose £20 when I bought my XTLive, Thomann had it cheaper and the store I bought it from (Turnkey...horrible store) have a price prominse that covers the whole of Europe. They tried to argue about postage but shut up when they went to the Thomann site and realised that it was still £80 cheaper with postage included!!

Needless to say the manager has scowled at me every time I've been in since then.
