i think it sounds pretty darn good. im listening on computer speakers right now. ill listen in my studio later on my good speakers. but yea its pretty cool man. as far as any advice, it would just be personal preference ya know. the mix sounds pretty balanced. the band is jumping styles alot so that makes it tricky too. what did you use for gear for this?
Thanks buddy. Yeah they do mix their styles a lot, so it's hard to know what sound to aim for. Gear wise, it's a pearl kit, a mix of marshall + mesa heads, Trace elliot bass amp. Mic wise, It's a D112 on the kick, beta 57 on the snare (top) and beta 58 on the bottom. 421's on the toms, 414's as overheads, some 451's for spots (ride, splash, hihats) (no triggers... like i normally do.) I think they benefit from a more natural tone. Guitars were done with a mix of a 414 and a 58, bass was a D112 with a DI. vocals were done with a 414. All into Logic.
