Thoughts on Gackt?

What do u guys think about these guys. I don't personally consider them in with the pop scene. Thoughts on these guys and bands like them?

It's J-Rock, not pop, NOT metal. Although it is very poppy rock. I went through a J-Rock stage a LONG time ago, and I still listen to Dir En Grey from time to time, if you don't know them:

Also Japan has 1 and only one metal band I enjoy, a very quintessential Melodic Death Metal band called Serpent:

He's an atrocious actor if you've seen "Moon Child." Other than that I'm a fan, mostly for nostalgic reasons. I enjoy some of his solo work very much, "Moon" was a good album and I liked his stuff with Malice Mizer too.
