some other great ones are...Laaz Rockit, Wehrmacht, Tankard, Destruction, and then there are the bands who had thrash touches like Hallows Eve, Militia, and stuff like that.

The last couple of weeks have been Artillery, Wrathchild America, Tankard and a whole lot of Overkill for me.

Metal Church - self titled
- The Dark

Nice picks there. I won't delve into the obvious bands, but I also dig Wrathchild America and Metal Church. I actually prefer the Howe era and although Metal Church is more American style powermetal than thrash, I name them because thrash fans tend to be their biggest supporters. Mike Howe might have been also one of the most underrated metal vocalists ever, as well. He was incredible. I also really dig Powermad (thrash band with high powermetal style vocals and Angel Dust, which is another hybrid band stylistically.

I'm digging Powermad.

I find it interesting these threads always involve a discussion of who is what in what genre. I also find it interesting no one has mentioned Metallica yet.

BTW - I like the Shock song.

I ran into Scott Ian in the Miami airport last May. He seemed very cool. I wondered if I was the first to recognize him!!!

I am reading this book called "Louder than Hell" that is the metal history largely told through interviews. The early San Francisco scene with Metallica, Anthrax, Exodus, Testament, etc. was very interesting. Lars Ulrich said their goal was not to entertain as much as get people to say, "What the fuck was that???"!!!
