Thrash!

Looking for feedback. I don't often get to record this genre, so this was a lot of fun. Don't want to fuck it up. I feel like the whole thing is pumping too much.

In case anyone is curious, guitars are XXX, bass was direct, and drums are *mostly* natural. Samples blended in under kick and snare. Vocals were SM7.

sounds good. vocals sound like the guy from mucky pup.

guitars seem to be fine. snare might be a bit prominent (perhaps slanted heavier/too much towards the sampled snare than the real one?), but I'd have to listen on different speakers to really tell.

Man, I wonder what's this obsession with gain on the guitars. The guitars sound perfect for the song. Some wicked riffing going on as well.

I would clarify the cymbals a little bit though. They do sound very dark in places and fizzy in others.

I am totally digging it as is. I think what most people are hearing is that its not detuned to the bowels of hell so you aren't getting that big "grinding dirgy" sound we are so used to hearing. i would agree snare needs to breathe a bit more its way out front, maybe pull it back in the mix a cunt hair

Damn good thrash too! Sounds good, and the guitars are distorted enough.

Not enough ambiance on the drum tracks in the slower parts, automate some more verb in there, that would be my only suggestion. Sounds killer
