We had this short course last week. They just wanted to show us what "bioinformatics" is *gg*. In Switzerland you can only study it in Geneva so noone really knows much about it in the german part.

heh, well we also got no plan whatsoever it's been two years now since they started the bioinformatics study-offer. so even those who should know what to do with the students often don't really know... i'm glad i wasn't here in the first wave, they've pretty much been used as "versuchskaninchen".
but what do you study/do to mess around with them crazy bioinformatics?

nah they program software used in biotech labs and stuff like that. maybe i'll program the software for a retinal scanner. or i'll program a simulation which can simulate (heh) the effects of a medicament before it's even developed.
