Threshold - Critical Energy (live - 2004)
Inside Out / SPV
http://www.thresh.net/
Disc 1:
1. Phenomenon
2. Oceanbound
3. Choices
4. Angels
5. Falling Away
6. Virtual Isolation
7. Innocent
8. Long Way Home
9. Fragmentation
Disc 2:
1. Clear
2. Life Flow
3. Narcissus
4. Sunseeker
5. The Latent Gene
6. Light and Space
7. Sunrise on Mars
8. Paradox
9. Sanity's End
The double live album. Probably not the best introduction to a band, but if every hour-and-a-half-or-better live release sounded this good, the particular medium wouldn't carry such a stigma. Since until this release I was unfamiliar with THRESHOLD's prog / power metal ways I'm probably not the best judge for this, but the musicianship is extremely tight and the recording sounds better than what most studios pass off as production. The music seems good enough, even if I'm not a huge fan of modern progressive metal. I see no reason why THRESHOLD fans would be disappointed though.
