ok, finished a new song. its kind of a meshuggah/death metal kind of thing. i can already tell you, its kinda rumbly on the low end. cuz i don't have a bass so i fake it with my guitar, rofl. i can fix that, but what else am i overlooking? can you guys really dig in and tell me what i need to do to make this sound better, huge, and more polished?

i like it. first thing that comes to mind is the bd which sound a bit too metallic for my taste. what gear are you using for guitar tone?

I agree on the kick. It is seriously the thing with the most high-frequency content on your drums. To me it seems even trebly-er than the hats/cymbals. I dig the songwriting. Work on the ascending in-between guitar runs a bit. Although they sound in-time, they sound a bit uncleanly played. Hard to describe ... as if the guitarist had a hard time playing them.

the kick! yeah after i give it a little compression it gets really clicky, i eq'd it a bit but it was hard to get the feel of where it lies. since i write, record, and mixed this all in one sitting, all of a couple hours. i gotta let my ears re-adjust before i work with it again or i tend to get used to hearing certain frequencies, i hate that! yeah, the guitars are a bit on the twitchy side, rofl. when i write i pretty much improvise riffs and try things i've never done before. so i never had to to rehearse this piece, since i never played it before! LMAO. i used the ezdrummer with the drumkit from hell addon. it sounds alright, but the sounds are hard to work with, since they already have some processing done to them, small tweaks can make them sound either horrid, or slightly better, rofl. thanks for the critiques! i'll get to work on this when i can! and i'll try to find the podxt patch i used for this and post it when i can. thanks again!
