ticket purchasing for upcoming tour

hey, i dun like to make new threads but..

i know someone who wants to see SyX in Pheonix, and doesn't know about purchasing tickets, are they purchased before hand, if so who do you buy them through, or will they be sold at the venue?

I usually use ticketmaster.com They seem good about covering most all the shows that take place in my area. I did have to use tickets.com for when I saw SyX in Worcester. Sometimes you can buy em at local record stores too.
