surprisingly, nobody has mentioned Intronaut or Textures yet....Intronaut especially, considering their emphasis on atypical rhythmic designs and syncopation, and the fact that their bassist is pretty much the centerpiece of the band.

also, nobody mentioned behold... the arctopus yet. alright, i haven't really seen them live, only on youtube. but their timing is mind-blowing.

the only metal concerts i attended were living colour and apocalyptica, both about 15yrs ago, apart from some unknown local bands. so, the tightest rhythm section in metal i have actually seen live was living colour.

Cynic and Meshuggah and both in the same night

Meshuggah kicked ass when they were in Montreal, filming etc. Though Cynic were extremely boring and uninteresting, really not a good live band
