Edge of the World

I haven't checked in for a while so if this was discussed already, then just do so again
I've only got it yesterday but I've liked what I've heard so far. The title track rocks and there's some good riffs. At a few of the intro's I could almost anticipate a scream from Halford. It's got an almost classic feel to it, suppositly Entwistle and Powell's input. The vocals didn't exactly blow me away, but it's a good album overall. I'll give it the thumbs up.

I did a bit of a comment when I bought it several weeks ago. I enjoy the album a lot, songs like 'Frinedly Fire', 'Resolution', 'Edge Of The World' really give me a run for the money I put on the slab.

I have no problem with Tipton vocals and the fact that the project is a superband by all standards made it more appealing to me.

I have it #3 in my top ten metal list of the year so far which says a lot I believe.

I'll leave it in the car car for a week, if it's in your top three Wyvern, I think it deserves a fair try.

I did like it a bit, but it just doesn't click very well with me... Personally, I'm glad the record execs told Tipton to go record with some newer artists after he offered up this, Baptizm of Fire rocks hard.

BTW, I've probably asked you this before, but have you by chance heard either of the two "Wyvern" bands? One from Italy, the other from Turkey. The Turk one's on my top 10 band list right now.

My fave too, but also check again 'Resolution'. It's not that BOF is bad, far from it I dig it enormously, but EOTW is a supergroup playing good heavy rock with energy and quality. And unlike most people I read commenting on the album I do cope with Tipton's vocals without problem (on both albums).

Actually neither , I took my nickname long ago from the mythical beast. Afterwards I found that there was metal bands going by that name (also that a model of post-WWII plane fighter) . And believe it or not I was never moved to check on them, but now you have ignited my curiosity about the Turkish one Any recommendations?

Every song on that page. There's 9 of them, from their only album "Firing First." Scroll down, and they are all to the right. I'd say "Bringers," "Trail by Fire"[sic], "Fire Attack," and maybe "Leader of Rebels" are all great songs, I just listen to the whole thing through though. What grabs me is the guy's voice, it has an aura, a sort of haunting quality, reminds me of Morrison's for some reason, though I don't think it's a similar voice.

All in all, I think this band would have ruled the '70s, and should have been picked up and promoted... There's a vibe in this band I cannot describe, please if you've got the words, describe how you like it.

Oh, and I totally forgot "Shadows on the Wall." Awesome song.
