I read something that Metallica is doing a song with Ja Rule (raapper/producer ?). Good thing Newsted left, I think he was "getting wise" to this sell out shit. Jason Newsted is recording/producing/playing bass with Voivod and has his own band Echo Brain.
thats the guy, anyway their influences are not my likeing anyway...

I think Newsted is just producing Echobrain, I don't think he plays with them. Could be wrong, though. Anyway, I downloaded a sample and it sucked.

The thing I hate Metallica most for is ruining a great bass player like Newsted. Listen to Flotsam and Jetsam's debut "Doomsday for the Deceiver". Newsted was amazing. Metallica ripped out his soul and turned him into what is in the pitifully sad Echobrain.
Speaking of people not playing to their ability, Sean Reinert was in a band called Aeon Spoke (it has since changed its name). Soft alternative rock crap with no interesting drumming. What the hell happened? From what I understand, Paul Masvidal was also in the band, and the guitars are very blah, too. I was sad when I listened to those .mp3s, very very sad, indeed.

i heard that reinhart stuff too, it was weak. for some reason people that play metal feel theyre not respected so they try to play other forms of music to get respect, and usually they dont get to play as much as they did in the metal genre. to me metal is the genre where you can actually have chops and use them, besides jazz. people i know in bands loose a member, then cant find someone to replace them because since nirvana to korn no one realy can play anymore. everyone can just chug and not riff at all. listen to any nu-metal most guys cant play their way out of a wet paper bag. the best of todays stuff is slipnot, besides euro stuff. thank god for gothenburg sweden. by reading that limp biquick post, its so bad they cant get a guitar player with any riffs they gotta go steal from hundreds of people.sad sad sad sad sad.

Sorry Trapped, I haven't heard Echobrain yet, but I do think Newsted is wise to callaborate with VoiVod. Also, I believe Kelly is in Nuerotica. I think they are Hard Rock and not metal, in the vein of Tesla. In my opinion, I like Metallica's albums up until the Black Album. I'm sick of "Sandman" "Unforgiven", "Nothing Else Matters". I only like a select few of that album (Of Wolf and Man, Anywhere I Roam). Also, I'm surprised that M.S.C. hasn't gotten on Metallica for playing with a Symphony. Metallica wasn't the first "Rock/Metal" band to do this. There were some before them like Mekong Delta, Savatage/T.S.O., and other earlier artists I'm sure. I just can't think right now, I'm tired.

theyve done much worse. actually, i expected S&M to be a good album;
but too many crappy songs on the set list, piss poor production, james awful attempts at "singing" and the orchestral arrangements were not up to par with michael kamens other collaborations.
id rather expose metallica for lying to the fans, biting the hand that feeds, spreading anti-metal propoganda, buckling under corporate pressure, giving up on metal when the going got tough, letting greed overwhelm them......... the S&M album aint shit compared to all these evildoings.
