Hi, Steve! The guys from Belorusuian forum want to knoww how you play* tha basic riff in "Philosopher", which begins with "B" and than "E"(if we play in "E" pitch)...... that's the last note??? In most of tabs the last is F on the second string. But it seems to something different there. Thank you from Belorussian, Ukrainian and Russian basplayers.

:worship:notworthy:worship:

You are the BEST Bass Player From All Times.

Here the tabs wich we use to play this riff.

G|------------|-----------------------------|
D|------------|--------------------3(?)-3(?)-3(?)-3(?)--|
A|------------|--------------2-2-2----------|
E|--7S--0--2--|--1--1-1-1-1-----------------|

The whole riff is on one string except the little fill that goes on every 2 and 4 of the pattern. That is just a pentatonic thing based on the root note (first fret). The slide up to and back down from the 7th fret happens every time.
It's really a simple riff, but playing it really slippery like that keeps the guitar from sounding too stiff. And you have to remember to keep it very repetative so it becomes the bass line and not just junk going on under there.
Anyway, hope that helps explain it. Try it.
