Well, today I hit the 39 plateau. I know a lot of people stress about their age, getting older, etc. but I always find it rather exciting to pass another year....

Plus the wife didn't know what to get me this year so she suggested I head up to my favorite store - Ameoba Records in Hollywood - and go on a bit of a spree!

Anyway, I know next year will be a milestone, but for now - 39 is the new 19!

Keep it heavy!

Happy birthday.

The only time I ever stressed about my age, was somewhere in my early/mid twenties. There's that period of adjustment, where you transition into full-blown adulthood. That kind of freaked me out. But at 41, neither 3-0 nor 4-0 bothered me in the slightest.

QFT, I am constantly freaking out on a daily basis and I turn 26 next tuesday

You younglings just wait till your pushing 60, then you will have something to stress about, not your health, but your health-care and Social Security hehehehehehe, oh yea and bland food.

Sir - yes, Amoeba is A MUST. Be prepared to spend time....serious time....there. It's 2 levels and it is massive. They have an unbeliveable used section of cd's, vinyl, dvd's....plus books, shirts, posters, etc.

The place is a music lover's paradise! :notworthy

Fuck you biffle. I turn 30 in 20 days. 30 is kind of messing with my head.

Dude 30 is a tough one! That's the only time that I actually felt a little depressed about a birthday. With that said, I turned 34 last week and it's no big deal. To be honest, I feel better, physically, at 34 than I did at 24! It's probably because I rest better, I don't use caffine or nicotine like I used to at that age. I think it all depends upon how you take care of yourself as to how "old" you feel, so that's my point.

25 was a lot more traumatic for me than 30. I sometimes forget how old I am now, to the point where I have to think about it for ten or fifteen seconds. 40 is still a little too far to even be on my mind yet. ;)

I'll be 30 in about 6 months and I'd be lying if I said it hasn't been on my mind from time to time. Fortunately, like Brian said, I feel better now than I did at 19 or even at 25.

That's the shame about all the "turning 30 angst". It's such a waste. The 30's are some of the best years. You're still young and usually in good health, and you're typically established with a job, place to live and maybe even a solid relationship. I look back on the 30's and my only regret is I didn't appreciate them enough.

As for 40, I spent my birthday in Helsinki headbanging and getting drunk with the Finns. Not a bad way to dive into middle agedom. Now, thanks to a better diet and gym addiction, I'm in the best shape of my life and feeling pretty damn good for 40++ Now if only the economy hadn't f**ked with my disposable income. Hope things get better soon so I can start traveling again. :kickass:

I'll be 41 on March 6th. I'll be celebrating with my buds at the KREATOR show in N.Y.C. I'm also thrilled to be sharing my birthday with David Gilmour, Michael Romeo, and Chris broderick that day, too. Age means nothing to me. I'll be going to metal shows and wearing metal band t-shirts until the coroner zips up the bag.
