Tone test with RevalverII

Heh, I also fiddled around with Revalver with my less-used guitar (Jackson DX7 with replaced electronics and Seymour Duncan Invader) and a real bass (Fender Mexico Jazz Bass):

Though not as clear as yours. I can't seem to get a ballsy tone out of Revalver without turning up the gain just a little too much for my liking, which also results in some ridiculous noise that even a gate won't fix :zombie:

Beautiful tone! Please post a screenshot of your settings!!!!

Thanks man! I actually used your technicue with curve eq, and applied a frequency response from a recorded guitar. The difference is that I tweaked kitty (changed paremeters and tube settings) to get a bit more string attack, gain, and "real" response. Also I applied the Eq over the Cabinets so I can play with that sound without latency. I will post the settings later, I wont post a screenshot since it would be useless, the most settings are within revalver, but I can post the "tweak" settings they can be used in demo mode.

Sounds too flat, try a mid scoop around 750 hz with a high Q, and a boost around 9000Hz.

Ok! Here is the preset.

There are 4 files. Monster.RIIProgram is the preset, the two wav files are cabinet impulses. (In the clip I'm playing two guitars with the first impulse, and the other two with the other impulse). The last file called String.amp_07 is the tweak setting for kitty.

Hmmm... you don't use any overdrive ? just the kitty amp?
I tried it and it sounds similar but with less gain... and raising the gain on kitty amp it only makes it more muddy. Maybe is because i use seymour duncan JB ??

Try the impulses I uploaded ;)

I used GuitarHack's Mesa Between ones on those.

You can put a real overdrive pedal between the guitar and the preamp.

I have the Seymour Duncan JB as well!
I drive the instrument input on my soundcard so that it goes "red" on the strongest peaks only, thats why it might have a little more gain. Use the "learn" button in revalver for the input ;) then raise the input level by 1 dB or so. I gave you the preset, I can't help you with getting a good input level. Unfortunatly the input level is the most important part :p One more important thing when you record is: USE LESS GAIN!!! :D

Can you record a clip and post it here, then I can help you more.

Here is a clip from a single guitar: http://www.friendsofmaitreya.com/myspace_bilder/L1.wav

I´d love to try this one, but since my Revalver refuses an activation with might and main (in fact I activated it three times now and it allways told me everything would be fine now) I´m not able to use presets and stuff :(

Yeah.... it definitely sounds better now... However I still think it needs more gain. What you play sounds good but in single string palm mutes there's a little problem. I'll tweek it some more and see if I can get it to work better for my taste. Thanks for sharing!
