Their early material, like DIMMU's, was a bit different from their current output. Don't get me wrong, as I like both bands.

to inform that they're from norway aren't really redundant since there are other bands than those from norway who play that type of black metal, but yes; it sounds a bit silly

At least there's no redundancy there...but I find it amusing when the country of origin is used as a selling point, nine out of ten times you can safely assume it's going be something generic.

yes, pretty good points,

but as 'Scandinavian Black Metal' almost became a full style that describe the music but not the provenance of the bands, like yes, I've seen Gothenburg DM, also New york DM style, I think it at least sounds a bit more precise than the generic 'Death Metal in the vein of Morbid Angel', or 'Black Metal in the vein of Darkthrone'.
