Toontrack Metal Machine (new EZX)

Like I said, sounds really good, but the toms and cymbals still sound "EZDrummer" to me, though sounds like it could be fixed with a bit of processing. Snares and kicks sound exceptional though. Might have to pick this up soon!

Yeah I'm pretty irritated about it as well. Who the fuck isn't open on Saturday?

Well, that and the fact that I, and you, should have gotten an e-mail on Friday. I cannot come to any logical conclusion as to why the order wasn't processed on Friday, the next business day after ordering, instead of 3/4 days later. Whatever, saved $20 so I guess I can't complain too much... Not so sure that I'll be doing business with them again, though.

What's the best price I can get for the download in Europe? Since I live 2 miles from sneap I might go ask him!
:D

Dude don't you hear you're clipping all over the place???

Yeah, I do. I just didn't have a chance to go back and fix it since it was late and I wanted to get some opinions on what I had so far. It's all in the guitars and the actual track needs to have a bunch of edits between parts as the engineer didn't crossfade the beginning and ends of each edit. I'll have to back off on the compression.

Thanks for pointing it out though. Any other suggestions?

Don't post it until its done! Why would you post something that sounds ass when you're trying to demo a product for people?!

One advantage when using Superior , even on an EZX is being able to edit all the bleeds. For example on Metal Machine, I can boost more ride into the overheads, reduce the toms from the room mic and have the reverb only on the snare. EZ Drummer won't let me edit that deeply. I'm stuck , for the most part, with the mix.
There are also memory saving options like only loading the needed hits.

This. EZ drummer also only has 8 outputs which is VERY limiting. Not enough outputs to have every drum seperated onto it's own channel like Snare Top, bottom, Tom 1, Tom 2, etc.

EZ drummer is aimed at quick song writing and a mix which is good out the box, hence the price and the basic options. Superior is a different beast once you get into it.

Bought and downloaded, auditioned this morning. Loving it.

Andy, can I just say a huge "thank you" for using a ride mic? It kills me that the other TT kits (besides Barresi's) don't have it - tends to be a major help in automation and widening the cymbal image!
