Toontrack Metal Machine...

I've heard nothing but good stuff from this expansion, Andy knows his shit. Might have to pick it up.

I got the first Sneap presets and I didn't like them at all. Got the Slate presets and pretty much built my dream kit around those using Metal Foundry kicks. From what I've heard of this new stuff, here and on TT's website, I must say I'm not entirely impressed. The kits sound good, extremely real, but they still have that "old school" metal feel to them. I guess that's cool for the people that want that old school, thrash speed metal type stuff but I was expecting a metal expansion suited to fit "today's" type of metal like deathcore, "new" melodic death metal, metalcore and the "djent" type stuff. Being that the whole "djent" scene is diluted and has spread like herpes, I figured they would be catering towards it because IMO the "djent" type stuff has some of the better, heavier metal kits for today. IDK, I expected more from Andy. But hey that's just me.

I understood Robert Landrum. I wanna ask, who can capture the Metallica's Black, Load etc albums "snare" sound? Or In Flames - "Soundtrack to Your Escape" snare sound with easy way? (like SSD) Or soilwork - Stabbing the Drama? We all have sets of Toontrack (Avatar, Metalfoundry etc) But New MM set is as similar as before. True.

He'd to say, "I wanna hear sumthing different from Toontrack, like 'one click processed sound' like Steven Slate Drums."

Yeah it's not that MM sounds bad, in no way does it sound bad, but I was expecting something different. Sure if you are just getting into processed drums and you don't own anything, this would be the most cost efficient way of getting into the game. That's part I understand. But for us that have SD2.0 and Metal Foundry it doesn't do anything for us. We can capture everything MM has to offer with Avatar or MF. And being that MF, IMO, wasn't as great as it was thought to be, I figured that TT would revamp MF at some point and REALLY dominate the metal world of processed drums. The only thing worth a shit in MF is the kicks. All the snares are 1 trick ponies and all the cymbals are so harsh you have to EQ them until they are almost non existent in the mix. Hopefully toontrack will really turn the processed drum world upside down and give us a metal expansion that is catered to all.
