Yep, its that time of the year folks. No...not that time. This time.

Top 10 albums of the year, and biggest dissapointments.

1. Katatonia - Viva Emptiness
2. Evergrey - Recreation Day
3. Skyfire - Mind Revolution
4. Iron Maiden - Dance of Death
5. Edge of Sanity - Crimson II
6. The Black Dahlia Murder - Unhallowed
7. Children of Bodom - Hatecrew Deathroll
8. Dream Evil - Evilized
9. Illnath - Cast into the Fields of Pleasure
10. Kalmah - Swampsong

(only top 5 are in order)

I'd elaborate more, but it'll be wasted time and everyone else will make a quick, concise, un-numbered list :tickled:

Dissapointments (in no order):

1. Soilwork - Figure Number Five
2. Arch Enemy - Anthems of Rebellion
3. Opeth - Damnation
4. The Crown - Possessed 13

/the end

Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon
Norther - Mirror of Madness
Suidakra - Signs For The Fallen
Children Of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll

1. Skyfire - Mind Revolution
2. Kalmah - Swampsong
3. Nightrage - Sweet Vengeance
3. Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll
1. Dream Theater - Train of Thought <----SEXY STUFF...it's like metallica meets talent(and piano)! only ripping on new metallica, of course.
4. Finntroll - Visor Om Slutet
4. Iron Maiden - Dance of Death
5. Sonata Arctica - Winterheart's Guild (doesn't live up to silence by any stretch but it was good in itself)

I am currently seeking out Lost Horizon songs, because it seems like A Flame To The Ground Beneath might make it on the list. Dream Evil's Evilized was pretty good too - I just didn't have a chance to buy it. This was a really good year for CD's but I was also playing quite a bit of catch-up, and I have a feeling I'll be doing that next year too.

My big disappointments were:

Metallica - St. Anger (I wanted one more decent song. That's all I asked...)
Soilwork - Figure Number Five(it's ok, but not that great)
Amorphis - Far From The Sun(....what happened? where's the melody of yore?)
Stratovarius - Elements Pt 2(Again, what the...?) and kotipelto and the drummer, michaels, are kicked out of the band now. woo tolkki being annoying.

1. Adagio - underworld
2. Skyfire - Mind Revolutions
3. Kalmah - Swampsong
4. Corporation 187 - Perfection in Pain
5. Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll
6. Evergrey - Recreation Day
7. Opeth - Damnation
8. Arch Enemy - Anthems of Rebellion
9. Slayer - War at the Warfield (ok, so its a dvd, but its on a disc)
10. Iron Maiden - Dance of Death/ Katatonia - Viva Emptiness

Dissapointments-
The Crown - Posessed 13
Metallica - St. Anger
Soilwork - Figure number five

In Slumber - Stillborn Rebirth :kickass:

Mysterium - Soulwards
Embraced - Amorous Anathema (re-release 2003)

@Gadlor...I was dissapointed by the new Amorphis too, I hear the Day of Your Beliefs track and loved it, listened to some other stuff and it just didn't hit me :(

as much as i heard (borrowed it from a friend), it should be good stuff again. not too catchy but still good.....hm.

>> link to samples <<
[edit: it's not a finnish band :p]

though i like all songs on "stillborn rebirth", i still wish they would have chosen tracks #2,5 or 7 instead of #6,10 as samples.
it's nothing new they play, but the album as a whole rocks :headbang: and the production is better than supposed (CCP records... oh well) :D

hm, and the lyrics are good too, considering what the lyrical concept is about.

Well I'll point out I have the cover as my avatar because I think its a damn cool cover mainly :p. But yes, I own Signs and I think its a good album and it was a close race between that and Swampsong. However I've never been a huge fan of Suidakra's production/guitar tone. It would be in an honorable mention slot if I had one :tickled:
