That's very 2002... Maybe it received official distribution in the US this year or something but it's been out for well over a year now.

Yeah, I know that album was released in 2002 in Europe, but the American distribution didn't happen until January of '03. Being how I disovered them late that month, I thought it to be appropriate for this list. Same thing could be said about Amon Amarth as well. That being the case, and for the sake of purists such as yourself, if I had to, I would replace the Rapture with Radiohead's Hail To The Thief.

The few ones I Love:
Katatonia - Viva Emptiness
Opeth - Damnation
A Perfect circle - 13th Steep
Mars Volta - De-Loused In The Comarorium
Nitin Sawhney - Human
Opeth - Lamentations

btw: Any1 goning to London 3/2 (Hammersmith Apollo) A Pefect Circle!
I'll be traveling from Sweden just for this event!:headbang:

Hehe, don't worry, I'll allow you to have whatever albums you want on your 2003 list. :D I just thought I'd... inform you. That Rapture happened to be in either first or second place on my 2002 list; great, great album.

Also in no particular Order......

Katatonia - Viva Emptiness

Thats really about all I can think of. But it is worth mentioning the entire work of Johnny Cash whome we sadly lost this year. Dark music owes its foundation to that man, the original man in black.
