Best Metal Albums of the Last Ten Years?

Yeah, it's depressing thinking back. Knowing that a year ago we were having a blast, and now we are just here working! LOL!

Wish we were back out on the road.

That Brave New world album was such a needed album. After 7th son, they just lost it, for me anyways. They did BNW and it was a breath of fresh air.

The MDB, was like, weird, because I lost interest in them too. I loves TANDTR and just wasn't feeling it for a while with them. When ALODK came out, I hated it at first, and then it was just amazing. Aaron really stepped up with his vocals and the band had some serious hooks. Great album!

Can't say much about the King other than he is just the man! The only album I didn't really dig was The Spider's Lulliby.

Novembers Doom, well, they have always been a great band, and this last one really puts them on the map. I loves TPHD too, well all of them really. I suppose that's why I am posting here lol!

Since I've started frequenting these forums I've found my favorite album in the past 2 or 3 years.

That album being Veronika Decides To Die.

I wish I would have started listening to Saturnus a long time ago. Thanks to Novembers Doom for opening doors.

Nevermore- This Godless Endeavor

Balance of Power- Perfect Balance
Zero Hour- A Fragile Mind
Death- The Sound of Perseverance

Nevermore- This Godless Endeavor
Pyramaze- Melancholy Beast
Primal Fear- The Black Sun

Good choices, though I prefer "Legend of the Bone Carver" to the first Pyramaze.

This Godless Endeavor is the CD that got me back into Nevermore after being kind of "meh" about them for a while.

Black Sun is my favorite PF album. Funny you mention it. Most people I know actually find that to be one of their weakest. I guess there is only so much spin you can do on Judas Priest worship!!!

I have Bone Carver, but I never really got into it like the first CD. I should probably listen to it more, I've only listened to it maybe 5 times all the way through.

I can still listen to Endeavor all the way through like everyday and not get tired of it. I just love that album.

I actually like Primal Fear better than Judas Priest, is that bad? Haha.

For the first time in a long time, Jasonic does not know what to say!!

You do know Ralph Scheepers left Gamma Ray to audition for Priest, but did NOT get the job, right? That alone invalidates the statement that Primal Fear > Priest....!!!

Kinda sucks only last 10 years... if you had said since mid 1990s, I could come up with a better list. In fact, that's what I'm doing, since 1997 makes me leave out a bunch of albums albums that shouldn't be excluded. =) No particular order here...

1) Dan Swano - Moontower

2) Edge of Sanity - Crimson II

3) Edge of Sanity - Purgatory Afterglow

3) Dissection - Storm of the Light's Bane

4) Enslaved - Below the Lights

5) Dark Tranquility - The Gallery

6) Samael - Passage (holy shit, what happened to this band, they're so
fucking bad now... I have all their albums since Passage, they've robbed me of so much money...)

7) Amorphis - Elegy

8) Sentenced - The Funeral Album

9) Therion - Theli

10) Opeth - Morningrise
