Top 5 darkest movies

Silence of the Lambs... creepy to imagine someone's fond of eating humans and instead of being a moron, he was superior to everybody :yow:

and Bambi and Lassie definitely caused some childhood traumata...

watching the nanny (the old sixties version) when i was about 12 scared the b0ll0x outta me. I Watched the fog about a year later. On halloween night. alone. at the end, when the credits were rolling, i glanced at the window and a blanket fog has risen. not only that, I realised the front door was open  other films that had a nasty effect on my impressionable young mind too

freaks
the wicker man
hush hush sweet charlotte

I thought the blair witch project was shite, I wanted them to die by the end..dumb screamy americans. :(

I've never seen Bambi. Honest!!

Once were warriors{New Zealand has is bad side too} very close to the truth.And JFK also very close to the truth{they may not be horror movies but they make me abit worried!!!}

:D Donnie Darko - Dark, Darker, Darko, as the tag went (..i think). doesn't get much darker than that..

 best movie i've seen in ages.
 perhaps not what you were asking for, though.. no "horror" in it.

Suspiria, right. I saw that film for the first time about 4 months ago, and i had an awful nights sleep after it. It was as if the film had infected my brain or something, i was just haunted by vivid colours (argentos use of colour in that film is a fucking stroke of genius)

Top marks, suspiria i had forgotten about:eek:

I watched the last 45 minutes of 2001 on the telly in an Indian convenience store when I was six years old, and it scared the living piss out of me. Like taking acid with an onion bhaji.

the first time I saw that movie I was 11, I remember that I slept in my mother's bed for some days..
last year I watched it again, but my mothjer didn't let me sleep in her bed

Jaws ! I was traumatized by that movie when I was 8 ...
More recently : Saving Private Ryan ... It's not an horror movie, I know ... it' just reality ... horror in its purest form ...

1) Godfather Part II
In this movie, brother betrays brother; brother kills brother; a wife aborts her own child as she fears "another" version of it's murderous father; murder abounds.....a true dark masterpiece.

2) Interview with the Vampire
Immortal creatures come to grips with the fact that god does not exist. They kill simply so sustain their own "lives". This is pure darkness.
